A Small Adventist School . .
Cornerstone is currently a one-room school serving PreK/K and grades 1-8.​ There are many advantages to the multi-grade classroom. Some research indicates that students in a multi-grade classroom have higher reading and math achievement, better work-study skills, and better self-concepts than their peers in single-grade classrooms.
Cornerstone Adventist Academy is a ministry of the University City Seventh-day Adventist Church. The school is governed by a board selected by the church and operates under the supervision of the Carolina Conference Office of Education.

Mrs. Vanessa Martinez is excited to serve as Head Teacher at Cornerstone Adventist Academy. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and brings years of experience working with children through tutoring, mentoring, and educational support roles. Her background has given her a strong understanding of child development and a passion for helping students reach their full potential. Mrs. Martinez is committed to creating a classroom where students feel supported, challenged, and valued. She believes every child is a unique blessing from God and strives to foster academic growth, strong character, and a love for learning in a Christ-centered environment.​
